Going (Ding)Bat-ty

From here, kadyellebee: “fontyness” June 28, 2003, I wound up following a trail that led me to an incredible dingbat and fleuron resource here: FontGarden Dingbats.

Most of the dingbats are freeware. A few are inexpensive shareware, postcardware, donationware, or, in one case, toyware. As freeware, they are almost all Windows TrueType, but if the outlines are good, they should be pretty easy to convert to OpenType or Type 1 or to any Mac format with FontLab.

There are some fantastically useful symbols and dingbats in this collection. Check out the Buttons & Dividers section especially.

Oh, isn’t that a great site? Its my very favorite place to look for dingbats! Its not updated so regularly these days, but the archives are so good that I can’t help but visit periodically :)
