World's Worst Boss

If you’ve been in the labor force for a few years, you have had the misfortune of working for a bad boss at one time or another. What was he like? What made him a bad boss? Was he the egotist who could never be wrong? Was he infallable despite the fact that his unchallengeable ideas often failed? Was he the micro-manager who scrutinized employees’ every activity and logged frequency of bathroom breaks? Did he harrass you or other employees? Did your worst boss demand more and more effort from his subordiantes without so much as a thank you?

In your career, who was your worst boss? What was s/he like? What did he do (or not do) that earns him your nomination for World’s Worst Boss? Don’t name him–we wouldn’t want it coming back on you, especially if he’s still your current boss!

How are other people Slanting? Check the comments! Leave a link to your Slant there!

    And me three!

Wow Sandy, I don’t think many could hold a candle to yours. Although I have a ‘co-worker’ that could give it run for the money. Thank heavens he wasn’t my boss!

I’m gonna pass this one up, I think.

Here is what I promise: in future, if my current irons in the fire play out, I’ll lavish all and sundry with tales of surviving what, which I dub with slight cliché, on my own blog, I do at the place I call “TCWMNBN” (or, The Company Which Must Not Be Named).

Would it only that it were that my job was important. Sadly, this is not to be.

    Next week, for sure.

    Sam.

PS to Heidi: thanks for your kind words to my posts and followups on my ‘blog. URKOOL.

the cleaning service is no longer allowed in our accounting office. my boss fears they may access files and steal identities. he bought us a vacuum! we have to dust clean and vacuum our own offices. he does an inspection every morning.
