Two Creative Pros offer insight on the Aulakh departure and Quark now
In this article posted today on creativepro.com, editor-in-chief Terri Stone chose two insightful comments on the Quark factor (one from our own editor-in-chief, Pariah S. Burke).
The bottom line, to me, seems to be that we can expect Quark to continue on to its current V7-release destination and that this is a event worth watching for; that development activity at Quark is as active as it ever was, and these post-Aulakh days, even more so; and that, with the seeking of outside talent to fill Aulakh’s shoes, Quark stands on the threshold of a possible, and quite positive, move forward.
My verdict: anyone concerned in the near term with computer aided layout and design would do well to watch for and note who Quark takes on as the next CEO. It will speak volumes about what the company sees itself as. Quark is still working hard to compete, and it’s not out of the fight yet.
