XChange International announce the release of Exportools 1.0

    PRESS RELEASE:

(DMN Newswire)–Jun 12, 2007–XChange International, the source for extended technology worldwide, are pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of the Exportools plug-in for Adobe InDesign CS3. Exportools for Adobe InDesign automates the process of saving and exporting the contents of individual pages into separate files, whether it’s for remote printing, imposition, archiving or portability purposes.

Printers and prepress houses worldwide can rely on the power, speed and flexibility of Exportools to generate high resolution output using today’s printing standards: EPS, PostScript® and PDF. Additionally, Exportools can intelligently extract all the text and produce images of each page for archiving or cataloguing.

Because Exportools creates dozens or even hundreds of files, it’s essential that a proper file naming scheme is available to guarantee that each file has a different name, and that it can easily be recognised. That’s why Exportools comes with a smart name composition engine that allows users to specify variable placeholders, such as page or serial numbers, that change automatically to uniquely name each exported file. By combining these variables with other placeholders or any custom text, Exportools provides virtually endless file naming possibilities.

Exportools can also be configured to open each of the saved files with a â€œpost-processing” application a user chooses. For example, users can select Adobe Photoshop to open the saved EPS files; or have Microsoft Word open the pages they just exported as text. Exportools also keeps track of the recent post-processing applications used, so it lets users quickly switch back and forth between these programs.

Exportools for InDesign supports these output formats: EPS, PostScript, PDF, plain text and JPEG. For PostScript and PDF output, any preset already defined in a user’s InDesign application can be used. Users can also specify which pages to export and whether the output should be created as single pages or spreads.

System Requirements:
Adobe InDesign CS3 and Mac OS X 10.4.2 or later.
Exportools is also available as an XTensions module for QuarkXPress 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Exportools is available for now through XChange International. To order, or for more information, users can visit www.xchangeuk.com, or call on +44(0)20 7490 4455 during UK business hours. Email address is info@xchangeuk.com.
