Announcing the ePublishing Workflow Webinar

PORTLAND, ORE – 18 October 2010 – Beginning January, 2011 a new webinar series (http://bit.ly/ePublishing) hits the airwaves, offering two days of intensive how-to, why-to, and when-to online training in electronic publishing workflows—the ePublishing Workflow Webinar. With all major publications going digital, including New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wired Magazine and a host of others, the market is set for eBooks to take over from traditional publishing methods. Colleges and universities are releasing digital versions of their courseware, and Amazon now offers 630,000 ebook titles on their web site.

Within five years there will be more digital content sold than physical content. Three years ago, I said within ten years but I realized that was wrong – it’s within five.”
~ Steve Haber, president of Sony’s
digital reading business division
as told to The Telegraph

Pariah Burke, Sally Cox and Steve Dolan present this webinar as a solution for those taking the leap into the ebook, e‑magazine, and e‑catalog domain. “’Print’ and ‘publishing’ no longer mean just ink on paper,” says Burke, a 20-year publishing and graphic workflow expert. “Publishing professionals need to embrace that concept in order to stay relevant, to stay employable.”

In two six-hour sessions, you will learn to create ebooks and rich media e‑publications from a variety of the most popular software applications, including Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Apple Pages and QuarkXPress. Edit and control formatting using Cascading Style Sheets, export to any of the popular ebook formats. Add graphics and hyperlinks to keep the reader engaged. Learn the difference between ePUB, PDF and Flash formats, and get tips on choosing the right one for your e‑publication.

Once you have created your digital publications, you will need to market them. Day Two of this webinar shows you how to obtain an ISBN or ASN number, market your ebook or e‑magazine, use the new Amazon plug-in for Adobe InDesign to directly export ebooks to Kindle, and get your publications onto the iPad, Android devices, BlackBerry PlayBook and into the ebook libraries of Apple’s iBooks, Amazon.com, and more.

This informative webinar is highly anticipated and will sell out quickly. Learn more and register for the online event here: http://bit.ly/ePublishing
