Google Doodle for Birthday of Author Maurice Sendak

Today is Maurice Sendak’s birthday–or would have been, had he not passed away last year at the age of 84. If the name sounds familiar, Sendak was the American author and illustrator most famous for creating the beloved children’s book, Where the Wild Things Are (1963). His other books include In the Night Kitchen (1970), Outside Over There (1981), and his last, My Brother’s Book, published posthumously this year.
