New update applies many fixes, solves PS canvas-change scaling problem
Recently announced by Adobe, and which by now should be showing up in the Updates window of your InDesignCS2, Adobe has posted new updates which will bring your versions of InDesign up to 4.0.4.
The updates are available for both Windows and Mac, and take care of a host of fixes, including (but not necessarily limited to): indexing, launch issues, transparency, shortcuts, text and fonts, scripting, inline graphics, InDesign Interchange (INX) files, German hyphenation, XML, library files, performance, QuickTime 7.x support, printing, SING glyphlets, EPS export, and text import. A complete list of fixes can be found in the ReadMe file.
A certain key fix worth noting involves a change brought in by the 4.0.3 update; enlarging the canvas in a linked Photoshop file caused the image to scale incorrectly in InDesign. This caused unexpected rescaling of the image on relink, and rescaled images came in at 72ppi. Adobe reports that this has been corrected with the 4.0.4 update.
The update is available through the Updates dialog on the Help menu. If you prefer to download them directly from Adobe, the Mac update (40.9MB) is available here, and the Windows update (29.6MB) is available here. The updates will bring any version of InDesign 4 up to 4.0.4., and incorporates all fixes; the individual updaters for 4.0.1 through 4.0.3 are no longer available.
