Let "Magma" Flow Core Image Right Into Your InDesign

Just-announced beta InDesignâ„¢ plugin touts direct access to Mac OS X Tigerâ„¢ Core Image effects

Developer soft­ware and Adobe plug-in mak­er Rogue Sheep has just released the beta ver­sion of a new plug-in for InDesign that brings Mac OS 10.4 Tiger’s Core Image tech­nol­o­gy direct­ly into InDesign CS2, mak­ing the over 100 Core Image effects avail­able with live pre­views, with­out hav­ing to leave InDesign.

Additionally Magma is report­ed to allow not only chain­ing of of mul­ti­ple Core Image effects but live edit­ing of indi­vid­ual effect para­me­ters for any sin­gle effect in the chain with­out affect­ing any of the oth­ers one may be using.

It’s avail­able as a free beta release here. Mac OS 10.4.x Tiger is required for this, as is a Core Image enabled video card, such as the ATI Mobility Radeon 9700, 9550, 9650, 9600, 9600 XT, 9800 XT, X800 XT, and the nVidia GeForce FX Go 5200, GeForce FX 5200 Ultra, GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL, and 6800 GT DDL .
