From Macworld UK we learn that Quark has announced the uptake of QuarkXPress 7 into design schools at colleges and universities.
According to Quark Europe (read the press release here) these schools include Leicester College, the London College of Communications, Sheffield Hallam University, Swansea Institute of Higher Education, the University of Bedfordshire and the University of Lincoln. Given credit for the addition are what Quark cites increased industry demand for QuarkXPress skills, recent improvments such as Composition Zones and Quark Job Jackets, and Quark’s stated commitment to education.
Damien Breen, education officer at Leicester College, was quoted as saying:
The feedback we are getting from our students is that QuarkXPress 7 is a very positive step forward for Quark. They feel that it is easy to use and are impressed with all the new features – in particular with Job Jackets, as it makes it easier for them to work together, optimise design, and minimise production errors.
