uDIRECT To Be Integrated And Packaged With Press-Sense iWAY
CHICAGO – October 19, 2006 – At the 2006 Graph Expo and Converting Expo, Press-sense announced an agreement with XMPie to integrate XMPie® uDirect™ Designer software and XMPie’s unique VDP composition technology into the Press-sense iWay web-to-print solution. Using a module called Press-sense iWay Advanced VDP, customers can choose variable data from XMPie to meet their customers’ VDP job requirements directly from the Press-sense iWay web-to-print workflow. Today’s announcement enables Press-sense customers to use XMPie tools to create, design, order, and fulfill rich VDP within the Press-sense iWay ordering and fulfillment process. How does it work?
Using Adobe InDesign and XMPie uDirect Designer, customers can create templates of variable data documents (postcards, brochures, etc.) and then use the Advanced VDP module of their Press-sense iWay to upload the templates into the iWay templates repository. Any template in the Press-sense iWay system can be accessed by the customer’s end users (e.g., the print buyer), customized through an interactive point-and-choose process, filled in with information from a database or with personalized information, priced, ordered, produced and printed as a finished product. The process is simplified and automated, from creation to fulfillment.

The Press-sense iWay Advanced VDP module with the XMPie software offers customers best-of-breed applications that increase the effect of direct campaigns by expanding the variable imaging options.
Using the effective combination of the XMPie uDirect Designer software and the XMPie composition technology built into the Press-sense iWay automated workflow solution, customers can increase the sophistication of the printed end product and its value to the end client. Press-sense iWay Advanced VDP with XMPie supports all industry output formats such as PS, PDF, PPML, VPS, VIPP and VDX, enabling high optimization and production efficiencies.
XMPie uDirect Designer Software
With XMPie uDirect, any Adobe InDesign CS2 user can produce powerfully-personalized, visually-rich 1:1 documents, which result in greater awareness and significantly higher response rates to direct marketing programs. The uDirect plug-in integrates seamlessly within the design environment, allowing users to exploit Adobe InDesign´s full creative capabilities. Any Macintosh or Windows user with Adobe InDesign CS2 can complete a VDP document.
Availability
The agreement is effective immediately and the Press-sense iWay Advanced VDP module is scheduled to be available to Press-sense customers as early as Q4 2006.
