CHICAGO – October 19, 2006 – At the 2006 Graph Expo and Converting Expo, Press-sense announced an agree­ment with XMPie to inte­grate XMPie® uDirect™ Designer soft­ware and XMPie’s unique VDP com­po­si­tion tech­nol­o­gy into the Press-sense iWay web-to-print solu­tion. Using a mod­ule called Press-sense iWay Advanced VDP, cus­tomers can choose vari­able data from XMPie to meet their cus­tomers’ VDP job require­ments direct­ly from the Press-sense iWay web-to-print work­flow. Today’s announce­ment enables Press-sense cus­tomers to use XMPie tools to cre­ate, design, order, and ful­fill rich VDP with­in the Press-sense iWay order­ing and ful­fill­ment process. How does it work?

Using Adobe InDesign and XMPie uDirect Designer, cus­tomers can cre­ate tem­plates of vari­able data doc­u­ments (post­cards, brochures, etc.) and then use the Advanced VDP mod­ule of their Press-sense iWay to upload the tem­plates into the iWay tem­plates repos­i­to­ry. Any tem­plate in the Press-sense iWay sys­tem can be accessed by the cus­tomer’s end users (e.g., the print buy­er), cus­tomized through an inter­ac­tive point-and-choose process, filled in with infor­ma­tion from a data­base or with per­son­al­ized infor­ma­tion, priced, ordered, pro­duced and print­ed as a fin­ished prod­uct. The process is sim­pli­fied and auto­mat­ed, from cre­ation to fulfillment.

The Press-sense iWay Advanced VDP mod­ule with the XMPie soft­ware offers cus­tomers best-of-breed appli­ca­tions that increase the effect of direct cam­paigns by expand­ing the vari­able imag­ing options.

Using the effec­tive com­bi­na­tion of the XMPie uDirect Designer soft­ware and the XMPie com­po­si­tion tech­nol­o­gy built into the Press-sense iWay auto­mat­ed work­flow solu­tion, cus­tomers can increase the sophis­ti­ca­tion of the print­ed end prod­uct and its val­ue to the end client. XMPie uDirect Designer Software

With XMPie uDirect, any Adobe InDesign CS2 user can pro­duce powerfully-personalized, visually-rich 1:1 doc­u­ments, which result in greater aware­ness and sig­nif­i­cant­ly high­er response rates to direct mar­ket­ing pro­grams. The uDirect plug-in inte­grates seam­less­ly with­in the design envi­ron­ment, allow­ing users to exploit Adobe InDesign´s full cre­ative capa­bil­i­ties. Any Macintosh or Windows user with Adobe InDesign CS2 can com­plete a VDP document.

Availability

The agree­ment is effec­tive imme­di­ate­ly and the Press-sense iWay Advanced VDP mod­ule is sched­uled to be avail­able to Press-sense cus­tomers as ear­ly as Q4 2006.
