Quark Initiates Search for CEO

DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 9, 2005–Today Quark announced that effec­tive imme­di­ate­ly, Kamar Aulakh is no longer with the com­pa­ny. Linda Chase, senior vice pres­i­dent of com­merce prod­uct devel­op­ment, has been appoint­ed by the Board of Directors as act­ing pres­i­dent of the com­pa­ny on an inter­im basis. The com­pa­ny has ini­ti­at­ed a search for a CEO to bring pro­fes­sion­al out­side lead­er­ship. Quark has retained exec­u­tive search firm Christian & Timbers to lead the search. 

Ms. Chase, with over 20 years in the pub­lish­ing indus­try, has been lead­ing the QuarkCommerce busi­ness unit since 1998, and has worked close­ly with the lead­er­ship of the com­pa­ny across many aspects of the busi­ness. She will con­tin­ue in her cur­rent role while serv­ing as act­ing president. 

These announce­ments do not affect the sol­id finan­cial posi­tion, day-to-day oper­a­tions or Quark’s com­mit­ment to its customers.
