After a few months of working with Astute Graphics Illustrator plugins I am, for want of a better way to concisely express it, blown away.
There are certain innovations in vector drawing that created a marked delineation between what drawing was like before their creation and after. For example, Illustrator’s Gradient Mesh tool; there was life before Gradient Mesh and life after.
Astute Graphics’ Illustrator plugins are all similar lines of before/after demarkation. There’s drawing without VectorScribe, Phantasm, InkScribe, and MirrorMe, and then a world of drawing with them.
If you’ve never tried the plugins you simply can’t imagine how fundamentally they will ease and enhance your vector drawing in Adobe Illustrator. You might even say that, with the Astute Graphics plugins, Adobe Illustrator becomes Adobe Illustrator Pro.
Disclosure: I am not compensated for this endorsement in any way. In fact, I waited to render my assessment of the plugins until after the publication of an interview article I wrote on the Astute Graphics blog (here) to remove any appearance of impropriety. Without equivocation or compensation, I sincerely feel the software really is amazing.
I whole-heartedly agree. Without the plug-ins from Astute Graphics, Adobe Illustrator seems quite crippled. I have recorded a small video, explaining how one of their tools – the Dynamic Corners Tool, works at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLn2ZjgSQp8
Using Astute Graphics define the “Before and After”.
You can’t live without it anymore. :D
