Smart Speller adds the enhanced spelling func­tion­al­i­ty of the lan­guage insti­tute *TALO™ to Adobe InDesign and InCopy. Smart Speller offers tremen­dous improve­ments to the spelling pro­vid­ed by InDesign and InCopy. In addi­tion to enhanced spelling func­tion­al­i­ty for lan­guages that are avail­able in stan­dard InDesign and InCopy, Smart Speller also intro­duces spelling func­tion­al­i­ty for lan­guages that are not avail­able in stan­dard InDesign and InCopy, includ­ing Bahasa Indonesia and Melayu, Bulgarian, Croatian, Australian English and many others.

Most spellers on the mar­ket are based on the per­mu­ta­tion or the tri­gram method. It is beyond the reach of many spellers to include in their lex­i­cons every com­pound that appears. Their lex­i­cons main­ly con­sist of roots of words that are meant to be com­bined with each oth­er. Resulting com­bi­na­tions are applied blind­ly, lead­ing to spelling errors with­out the user’s approval.
These spellers skip mis­spelled words and the user is not aware of his mis­takes. Those prob­lems are elim­i­nat­ed with Smart Speller.

Each European lan­guage has a very dis­tinct char­ac­ter of its own. Therefore, each speller has its own lan­guage mod­el, describ­ing its char­ac­ter­is­tic behav­ior and guar­an­tee­ing its speed.

Now with the inte­gra­tion of *TALO’s lan­guage tech­nol­o­gy, Smart Speller goes beyond the word bound­ary, leav­ing the fun­da­men­tal spelling prin­ci­ples unchanged.

Spelling changes (for exam­ple, between lead­ing acad­e­mies or between American and British English) are an option, too. You can cre­ate and imple­ment your favorite style for com­mu­ni­ca­tion with the exter­nal world.
